MIELI Without Borders
Mental health awareness for foreign language speakers in Finland
Mental health is for everyone
Moving to and living in a new country can be terrifying and sometimes even traumatizing. About one third of foreign-language speakers in Finland feel that they would have needed support for their mental health but didn’t reach out. The main reason was the availability of information in a language they understand – or rather lack thereof.
MIELI Without Borders wants to fill this gap and go even further. We believe that access to mental health support should not be determined by your cultural or linguistic background, and we’re dedicated to fight for this.
Mental health does not discriminate. And neither should mental healthcare.
With almost half a million foreigners living in Finland, and an everchanging world-political situation, this is now more important than ever. Join us and become part of a community for foreigners, by foreigners that welcomes people regardless of language, origin, ability, gender, religion, or status.
